From Wednesday 4th to Saturday 7th May 2022.
European Museum of the Year Award 2022 (EMYA) Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony will take place at the Estonian National Museum in Tartu from 4-7 May 2022.
Online broadcast from gala on 7 May at 7.30 pm here: https://www.erm.ee/emya-gala
Each year, the EMYA conference and award ceremony are occasions of collective celebrations of the continuous self-reflection, inventiveness and innovation of our sector. They also provide an opportunity for benchmarking and networking, for exchange and sharing of the skills and expertise that a process of creating a new museum generates, and for exploring together the challenges renewal poses, and the personal and institutional strengths it demands.
Estonian National Museum hosts EMYA 2022 as the Kenneth Hudson Prize winner from 2018. It’s an award that is given to most unusual and daring achievement that challenges common perceptions of the role of museums in society. ENM is known for its dialogical and participatory approach to the history of everyday life and reviewing the traditional concept of a national museum.
Museum is offering all attendees also opportunity to get to know museum, city of Tartu (European Capital of Culture 2024) and other museums in Estonia. In addition, the EMYA programme will introduce you to some one-of-a-kind people and places in the country – from the Onion Route to the Setomaa – that underscore our cultural diversity.
All museums and media representatives are welcome to take part in the event in order to make new contacts and share their success stories on the European museum scene.
Estonian National Museum contributes to all requirements and guidelines to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone attending the EMYA events.
Registration is open until 24 April. Full details can be found on the conference website.
