DHNB 2025. ENM hosts the Digital Humanities in the Nordic and Baltic Countries annual conference
Friday, 28. feb 2025
March 3-7
The DHNB 2025 conference, themed "Digital Dreams and Practices," explores the vision and practice of digital humanities, aiming to highlight the societal value of digital data collections and research. In line with contemporary developments, the conference will place special emphasis on the role of artificial intelligence in the humanities and the analysis of digital archives and datasets. The program includes over 100 presentations, with keynote speakers Maciej Eder, Andrea Kocsis, and Meelis Kull.
Digital humanities encompass research and development at the intersection of humanities and information technology. This broad field includes computational analysis and modeling of texts and other humanities data, language technology, digital data management, creative applications of digital archives, and digital culture studies.
The Nordic and Baltic Digital Humanities Organization (DHNB) brings together digital humanities scholars and professionals from the region. Founded in the Nordic countries in 2015, it expanded to the Baltic region in 2020. The annual DHNB conferences attract researchers, students, and professionals interested in applying digital methods in the humanities, social sciences, and the arts. This year, over 200 participants will gather in Tartu.
