The Estonian National Museum will be re-opening its doors at 10:00 on Wednesday 5 May. Its ordinary opening hours will apply: 10:00-18:00 Wednesday-Sunday. The exhibitions, shop and outdoor café will be open.
Both of the museum’s permanent exhibitions, ‘Echo of the Urals’ and ‘Encounters’, will be open to visitors. In the case of the latter, the three-month free admission period still applies: ‘Encounters’ can be visited until 27th of June free of charge. Open through to the end of summer will be the popular fairytale exhibition ‘Once upon a Time’, while the World Film Hall is hosting the ‘Estonian Design Awards 2020’ exhibition until the end of May.
The new exhibitions open to visitors are:
- the unique Finno-Ugric photographic exhibition ‘Peoples Are Made of People’;
- ‘Haste Makes Waste’, an exhibition created by final-year students from Jaan Poska Gymnasium about the harmful effects of fast fashion; and
- photo exhibition Global Greenings in co-operation with Embassy of Ireland, Estonia.
All of the museum’s virtual tours and virtual exhibitions will be available as well.
We ask everyone coming to the museum to disinfect their hands and keep their distance from other visitors. The 2+2 rule remains in force, and you must continue to wear a mask. At first we will only be able to arrange excursions for school groups and other groups who are currently permitted to take part in face-to-face studies.
