New language options in our services

Estonian permanent exhibition is now explorable in six and museum's home page in five foreing languages
In addition to English, Russian, Latvian and Finnish, the permanent exhibition "Encounters" has also been translated into German and French. From this summer, our home page is also available in Finnish and French.
"We try to add new languages both to our exhibitions and website every year. The capacities are large and translation is a demanding work, but if Tartu's tourism retains the growth trends of the previous couple of years and our museum is a desired attraction to visitors from further countries, multilingualism is definitely worth the effort. To those who can't find translation into their mother tongue or preferred language at our museum, we recommend to book a guided tour for their first visit, since we offer guide service in more than ten languages," said the head of the public and foreign relations, Kaarel Tarand.
The passion of modern Estonia to fastly implement all the new e-solutions into practice has also found a place at the ENM. Only with one gesture with a smart card you can change the language on hundreds of text screens, film subtitles and touch screens, helping you to explore the exhibitions with or without a guide or a translator
