Celebrating Estonian Flag Day

We invite everyone to celebrate Estonian flag's birthday with us on June 4
On June 4, 2017 the Estonian national flag turns 133 years old. To make the day special, Estonian National Museum has planned many different activities indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
The programme for the day is following:
7.00 Flag-raising ceremony
7.20 Walk in Raadi cemetery (2 hours, 3.5 km when including walking back to the museum). Stopping at tombs related to the people who were important in the development of the flag and national colours. The guides are Tõnis Lukas and Kaarel Tarand
10.00 The museum opens. The museum's cafe and restaurant offer birthday surprises (from 12 noon)
10.15 Opening and presenting of Jakob Hurt's part in museums' collaboration „Kroonituur“
10.45 Documentary „Hurda kutsikad“ in Jakob Hurt's hall (free)
10.30-16.30 Talks about the flag near the first national flag starting every quarter of the hour (access to the main exhibition area only with a ticket)
12.00 Anthology „Sinimustvalged lood“ verbal-visual presentation in Jakob Hurt's hall
12.00-15.00 Birthday concerts every hour
12.00 – Fa-Diees
13.00 – Lähte women's choir
14.00 – Karlova's soloists
15.00 – Choir Rõõmusõõm
14.00 The President of Estonia and Tartu County local government representatives plant oak trees to an oak tree park, which is part of the Estonia 100 programme ''Estonia 100 oaks''
15.00 Opening of Tiiu Kirsipuu and Ilmar Kruusamäe's collaboration „Inimesed“ in the gallery (with invites)
19.00 Museum closes
All the activities (except the ones in the exhibition) are free.
