Paintings by Armenian Artist Vahan Shahbazya
Vahan Shahbazyan was born in 1982 in the city of Vanadzor, Armenia. From 2000 to 2005, he studied visual arts at the National Pedagogical University and currently works at the Aesthetics Center named after Genrih Igitjan, where he provides art courses to children and adults of all ages. Since 2017, he has served as a lecturer in visual arts at the National Pedagogical University.Vahan Shahbazyan's paintings reveal glimpses of sunny Armenia. The artist, who has visited Estonia several times, has also depicted Estonia and its people. Over his twenty years of activity, Vahan has become an integral part of the Armenian visual art scene, participating in numerous local and international exhibitions.
The exhibition offers a captivating insight into the work of an artist from a distinct cultural tradition while affirming the universality of good art.
The Estonian National Museum kicks off the celebration of the year of cultural richness with this exhibition.
