Become an intern at the Estonian National Museum
Every year, the Estonian National Museum provides internships to university students from different specialities who are interested in learning about and gaining first-hand experience in the functioning of cultural institutions and various categories of museum work.
The museum plays different roles in the context of internships: primarily a knowledge broker, but it can also serve as a laboratory or partner for turning ideas into reality.
Topics:
1) Field work (documenting different topics in text, image and other media) – supervised by the Department of Research
2) Visual anthropology supervised by the Department of Research
3) Visitor surveys, visitor observations – supervised by the Department of Research
4) Studies concerning users (web environments, databases, multimedia solutions, etc.) – supervised by the Department of Research
5) Research at the museum supervised by the Department of Research
6) Event management internship – supervised by the programme team, the Worldfilm festival team
7) Internship in the field of conservation of artefacts and preservation of collections (materials: textile, paper, wood, metal, plastics) – supervised by the Department of Conservation
8) Museum collections (working with information system, organizing and systematizing new collection acquisitions) – supervised by the Department of Collections
9) Sales and product development– supervised by the Department of Sales
10) Information management and circulation– supervised by the sales and service department
11) Workshops and master classes – supervised by the Folk Culture Training and Information Centre
12) Museum marketing– communications and marketing manager
13) Testing and carrying out educational programmes – supervised by the Education Centre
